Which blockchains do you support?

We support 24 blockchains including 8 EVM chains (Ethereum, Polygon, BNB, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Avalanche, Fantom), 10 Cosmos SDK chains (Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Juno, Stargaze, Akash, Evmos, Injective, Celestia, Neutron, Stride), plus Cardano and Midnight. We also support testnets for Ethereum Sepolia, Polygon Mumbai, Cardano Preprod, and Midnight Testnet.

What is the difference between Web3 and traditional monitoring?

Traditional monitoring checks HTTP endpoints, TCP ports, and TLS certificates. Web3 monitoring adds blockchain-specific checks: RPC endpoint health, node sync status, block height tracking, gas price monitoring, peer connectivity, and smart contract event watching. BlackTide combines both in a single platform.

Can I monitor my own self-hosted nodes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can configure any RPC endpoint URL — whether it's a public endpoint, a paid provider like Alchemy or Infura, or your own self-hosted node. We support both RPC mode (endpoint health) and Infrastructure mode (node sync, peers, client version).

What notification channels are available?

We support Email, Slack, and webhook alerts on all plans. Enterprise customers can configure custom integrations, escalation policies, and PagerDuty/Opsgenie connectors. All alert rules support configurable thresholds and cooldown periods.

What is the difference between RPC and Node monitoring?

Accepted Answer

RPC monitoring tests specific JSON-RPC methods (like eth_blockNumber or eth_gasPrice) to verify your endpoint responds correctly. Node monitoring checks infrastructure health: sync status, peer count, client version, and resource utilization. Use RPC for endpoint availability, Node for infrastructure health.

How often are checks performed?

Check frequency depends on your plan: Free (60s), Developer (60s), Pro (30s), Enterprise (10s). Each check runs from your selected monitoring locations simultaneously, giving you multi-region perspective on your service health.

Do you provide a public API?

Yes. Our RESTful API gives you full programmatic access to monitors, incidents, status pages, and alert rules. API access is available on Pro and Enterprise plans. Full documentation is available at docs.blacktide.xyz.

Can I use custom domains for status pages?

Custom domains for status pages are on our roadmap and will be available for Pro and Enterprise plans. Currently, status pages are served under the blacktide.xyz domain with your custom slug.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Your service will continue until the end of your current billing period.

What happens if I exceed my monitor limit?

We'll notify you when you're close to your limit. You can upgrade your plan at any time to add more monitors, or we'll pause the extra monitors until you upgrade.

Do you offer a free trial for paid plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes! All paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and can arrange invoice-based billing for Enterprise customers.
